Field mapping
Asana Project → Hubnity Project: required for tasks to appear in the timer.
Asana Task → Hubnity Task: auto-created when sync runs if Auto-create tasks is enabled.
Asana Assignee → Hubnity Member: matched by email address. Unmatched assignees are skipped.
Asana Tags → Hubnity Tags: optional mapping for report filtering.
Permissions needed
Asana: the authorizing user needs access to all projects you want to sync. Private projects require explicit membership.
Hubnity: Owner or Admin role to install. Members use synced tasks via the timer.
Sync frequency
Projects and open tasks sync every 15 minutes. Completed tasks stop syncing after 24 hours unless Archive sync is enabled.
Time entry write-back to Asana runs within 5 minutes of Hubnity sync. Format: decimal hours in the task time tracking field.
Common errors
HUB-ASA-401: OAuth token expired. Reconnect from Settings → Integrations → Asana.
HUB-ASA-404: Asana project deleted or access revoked. Re-map or remove the project mapping.
HUB-ASA-422: Task in Hubnity references an archived Asana task. Reassign time or unarchive in Asana.
HUB-ASA-429: Asana API rate limit. Hubnity retries with backoff; contact support if persistent.
Tracking time on Asana tasks
Synced tasks appear in the desktop app task picker and browser extension under the mapped Hubnity project.
Starting the timer on an Asana-linked task attaches the Asana task ID to the time entry for write-back.
